Oh Will, I'd facepalm and ask you what it's like back in 1998, but JT didn't know that either. There's an operator in the SC2 turret, too, he's just harder to see. The Raven says "Darn, I appear to have turret's syndrome", where the developers later clarified that the free-moving Raven cockpit would make the pilot as dizzy as a turret operator.
